New Layout

What do people think of the new layout? I was getting a little sick of seeing a black and white face mask greet me every time I went to my LJ page so I thought I'd switch it out with....an image of a half dilapidated door.

Plus, I was having issues with how some of my fics kept looking under the cuts when I was using the last stylesheet so I was pleased to find one that felt smoother to me.

Anyone have any thoughts? Missing the face? Liking the door? Layout, what new layout?

After staying up literally all night, I found a stylesheet that seemed to work for me. Or perhaps I'm not seeing straight thanks to no sleep. But whatever. I wanted something simple that wasn't cluttered with a decent header and that's what I've got.

And the big bonus is that the header image is mine! HAHA! I get to shove some of my own creativity into this layout! Even if the entire stylesheet was done by another. Yes....

Anyway, comments are welcome. How does it look to you, dear reader, who has probably had more sleep than I?

By some technological "It's Like Harry Dresden Touched My Internet"-like mess up, my other layout stylesheet got all messed up and I'm too tired right now to try and fix it. So it's back to the old one for now. I'm going to try and convert it back tomorrow when my brain isn't a leaking mess.

Gaaaaahhhh.....

I'm trying out a new layout to see how it fits. I really liked my old one with the postcards, but it always felt a little cluttered to me. I'm not entirely sure about this one. I love the actual images, but I'm a little skeptical of the 'bloggish' setting. Right now it doesn't seem as friendly to me, but like a pet, perhaps I just need some time to get used to it and vice versa.

If anyone has any comments in regards to the two differing layouts, feel free to let me know! I could use an objective eye at this point.

In other news, I posted the first half of what should have been a oneshot on the [community profile] dresdenfic comm, thus committing me to write up the second part tonight and posting before I leave for a week. I'm not sure how smart that was of me as I won't be able to start writing until after 10pm tonight and I have a 9am flight tomorrow. Oh, you know what? I know how smart of me that was. Answer: not very much.

On a different Dresden Files-related note, Jane McLean (aka the 2nd incarnation of Ancient Mai), is now attached to the film adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife. I really enjoyed this book when I first read it. It did a great job of grounding a fantastical element into everyday reality. But the more I actually thought on the relationship of Henry and Clare, I actually grew uncomfortable at the idea of how it was Clare first met Henry vs. how Henry met Clare. Is it a great romance or something that's vaguely, unethically twisted?  Guess it depends on your views of love and romance.

But that aside, I recall McLean's character as being a woman who is in danger of losing her husband. Now, see, if Ancient Mai even suspected her mate was going to leave her, she'd just incinerate him. But that's just my take. *G*
