Number of Original Costumes Seen on 14th St. : 3 (1 iPod, 1 Hospital Patient w/Open Gown, 1 Guy w/ a magnet around his neck = ChickMagnet.)

Number of Costumes Seen That Made Me Grin on 14th St. : 4 (1 Shaun from Shaun of the Dead, 1 pair of Aziraphale and Crowley done by two girls, 1 TARDIS - no really. Someone dressed as a TARDIS, 1 Cross Dressing Cat Burglar - the randomness was hilarious.)

Number of Costumes Seen That Had No Reason on 14th St. : 6,932 give or take. The majority of this were girls taking advantage of Halloween being the holiday where you can dress like a street walker and get away with it.

Number of People Who I Gave Costume Ideas To: 7

Number of People Who Took My Costume Suggestions: 7 (Oh yay! FTW!! I lived vicariously through you all)

Number of Candies Given Out By Me : 0 (I apparently live in a VERY secure building)

Number of Candies Eaten By Me : 30 give or take a few. (Hey, I'd gotten them for the kids. They HAD to go somewhere when none showed up.)

Number of Photos Taken By Me: 0 (damn broken memory card!!)

Number of Photos Sent To Me: 134 give or take...no, that's actually pretty accurate. If I never see another shot of someone drinking an orange-tinted cocktail, it'll be too soon. Sadly, Ben and Luke did NOT take any photos of themselves as the Harry Dresdens, which would have been the only photos I would have really cared about.

Sadly as I have class tonight and then will need to wake up early tomorrow, I won't be able to partake in any intense Halloween-ing. But I was able to do it via proxy by giving costume suggestions to other people. I think my crowning achievement was convincing my friend Ben and his twin brother of their costumes. Ben and Luke wanted comfortable costumes that had actual reasoning as opposed to the lazy "wear a hat and that's my costume" type of costume. So I suggested one go as Book!Harry Dresden while the other be TV!Harry Dresden. So Ben was Book!Harry and Luke was TV!Harry. Ben had the easier job since he'd actually read the books. I had to give Luke a crash course on TV!Harry. But now they are both off. Ben with his staff, duster and a skull that says "BOB" on it. And Luke with his hockey stick, hoodie and leather jacket and a skull that says "HROTHBERT" on it. I was so geekishly pleased. I hope they bring back photos.

So, I've just returned from New Jersey where some friends and I commandeered a usable kitchen and baked until we could bake no longer. We now have about 60 vampire cupcakes and several mini cupcakes. It was a delicious, DELICIOUS weekend.

Here's the vampire cupcake we made from that recipe I'd posted awhile back. We ended up making ours chocolate, but frosted it vanilla so that you could see the blood. We also used raspberry filling instead of cherry as it was tastier. You can actually make the cupcakes without carving out the middle and adding filling. If you feel lazy you can just drizzling the filling on the outside after poking the holes. You'll have to do that anyway to get that bleeding look. But putting the filling in the cupcake makes it extra tastier.

My friend who is a frosting wizard also decided to give a bunch of the mini cupcakes Fun!Hair. I particularly liked this one:
