I did a wedding meme for two characters I'll probably never write again but there you go.

Here's the wedding of Adam Young of "Good Omens" and Sophie Taylor who appeared in my Good Omens/Sherlock crossover fic from eons ago as well as this other meme.

After several failures, Good Omens finally gets an adaptation. The radio play stars Pete Serafinowicz, Mark Heap, Colin Morgan, and Charlotte Richie.

Fic Meme of 2014 taken from [livejournal.com profile] awanderingbard:

I only wrote three completed fics this year, all set in the MCU-verse with some daemons mixed in.
Be Here
Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds (daemon-verse)
Bigger on the Inside (daemon-verse)

After many rumors of film adaptations and tv adaptations, Good Omens is coming to us via a radio drama. No, for real this time. Seriously, it's happening.

Oh No.

joonscribble: (Khoshekh from Night Vale)
A friend of mine started to listen to Welcome to Night Vale of her own accord. She spent a week binge-listening and we got together to listen to the latest episode. Half way through, she randomly said: "Hey, what do you think it'd be like if Aziraphale and Crowley visited Night Vale? They'd probably check out Desert Bluffs too, right?"

Behind her I could see a grape-colored plot bunny peering at me, twitching its adorable little tentacles.

"What have you done?" I whispered to her. "What. Have. You. Done?"

I recently got into Pinterest and it's opened up a new obsessive avenue by which to feed my fandom love. I feel this urge to go back to fics and create boards for all of them. But instead of going with an actual existing fandom character, I did a board for grown up Adam Young & Sophie Taylor. Because [livejournal.com profile] awanderingbard's influence on me for romantic fluff is still going strong.

The board is comprised of images that are related to drabbles that I've done about the couple and future drabbles.

EDITED: Now I've done one for the grown up version of Wensleydale & Pepper

Addiction levels, rising.

I combined the first two OTP memes from before and did two more couples.

Just to support my oft mentioned assertion that Mark Gatiss should play Aziraphale:

tumblr_mf29slYYzN1qbe2voo5_1280

Note the less than fashionable jumper. Even his coat works because as you see in the image below, it's got a tartan lining. He's borrowing Crowley's mobile to make a call as he sees that there's something ominous in the air.

Actually, this is one of Gatiss' characters from his League of Gentleman days, Mr. Chinnery the vet who couldn't help an animal to save his life. Even that reminds me of how Aziraphale once accidentally killed a pigeon.

chinnery_film2

That bunny is doomed.

In any case, these photos have done very little in stopping me from wanting to write a fic where all three Holmes brothers meet Azirphale and Crowley. It's a good thing I'm used to seeing Mark Gatiss basically interact with himself in the League of Gentlemen series.

I watched Pacific Rim the other day (sort of underwhelming) and the most surprise I got out of it was that Burn Gorman was in it as a nerdy scientist. Since then I watched some recent interviews with Gorman and came to the conclusion that if he were only about 10 years younger he could totally play Newton Pulsifer of Good Omens. Sadly, he's a bit too old now as Pulsifer is supposed to be about 23. It's like how at one point I thought Tom Hiddleston could play Crowley except I find him to be too tall.

This author of this article listed some of her suggestions for who should play Aziraphale and Crowley should that TV series ever get made.

Below the cut I talk lots about her choices.

A few years ago Terry Pratchett wrote New Year's resolutions for everyone's favorite demon and angel. [livejournal.com profile] guardian_chaos reminded me of them recently which inspired me to come up with some new ones for them for 2012.

In one of my chapters for Human Nature, I mentioned that Crowley had to go through audits from Hell (literally) every ten years to more or less explain his usefulness to the workings of Downstairs. Under the cut is a list of Crowley's greatest hits from the last audit.

I say, "news" though I'm completely late to the party on this one.

Good Omens is heading to a TV set near you.

Apparently former Monty Pythoner Terry Jones is attached to it as well.

So last night (the first night it wasn't 97 degrees), I had a dream that starred two of my fandoms crossing over.

I know I should feel more than general amusement toward Castiel and his mega-angst. Last week felt tragic but this week? Do the writers really not expect me to do nothing but giggle when they throw drunk!Castiel at me?

"What happened to you?"
"I found a liquor store."
"And?"
"I drank it!"

So it takes about an entire store to get an angel drunk, huh? Guess that means Aziraphale's a lightweight if he gets drunk on sharing a few bottles with Crowley. Heh.

For anyone who's a fan of Good Omens, this sounds like a book very much in the same vein. Only it sounds like the main angel character is the product of mashing Crowley and Aziraphale together.

It seems that "Good Omens" is now an audiobook. Given the Terry Gilliam Curse, this might be the closest we ever get to the book being presented in a different medium. I've seen the reader in various roles and he's not bad, if a bit forgettable. Perhaps I'll put this on my Christmas wishlist.

Speaking of Gilliam, I kind of want to see The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Gilliam Films and I have never had a harmonious relationship and the last Gilliam film that involved Heath Ledger was rather awful. But, the Faustian plot of this latest film is so my cup of tea so I'll probably be giving this a view.

Only a handful of more weeks before Supernatural gives us their version of Crowley. I recently saw Mark Sheppard, who will be portraying SPN!Crowley, in a guest spot on the new show, White Collar. As always, he played villany with medium-level menace, which fits Crowley rather well. "You are a particular kind of bastard!"

And finally, my local library kindly got me a copy of John Connolly's "The Gates." As I predicted, it's very much "Good Omens" for the PG audience. Sure satanists and demons are involved, but that doesn't mean it can't be entertainment for the whole family. I'm only a few pages in, but I'm really hoping Connolly will give us some banter between someone. Banter always makes books like these better.
