I never got around to reviewing the last two episodes of the first season of this mystery series starring Ben Miller. But I'm happy to report that Death in Paradise got renewed for a second season!

Richard Poole is down for the count in this episode thanks to tropical fever. Actor Ben Miller gets a mini-vacation.

I want more people to hurry up and get on board watching Death in Paradise. There's a fic out there that needs to be written about Poole and Sherlock solving a case together. It can take place before Poole gets shipped off to the Caribbean or maybe Sherlock and John can visit St. Marie. Camille, Fidel and Duane can laugh themselves silly at the sight of two Englishmen running around in wool suits in 100 degree weather while John trails after them shouting about heat stroke.

Richard Poole turns a year older on St. Marie. And spends most of that day trying to regain back some professional self-respect.

Richard Poole being somewhat attracted to a woman looks pretty much the way you'd expect.

"Live a little. Just a little, mind you. Don't want to go mad." )

No show set in the Caribbean is complete without an episode dealing with voodoo.

No Merlin episode review from me just yet as I haven't had a chance to watch it. (Damn you, paper grading!) But below the cut is a belated review of the new BBC mystery series starring Primeval's Ben Miller. The pilot episode also guest-starred Sherlock's Rupert Graves, Being Human's Lenora Crichlow, and Bedlam's Hugo Speer.
